Where does the punch noise come from?
Noise load operation of punch workshop is more than 90dBA. In China, punch workshop is generally as high as 90-110DBA, resulting in big harm to equipment operators and other workshop personnel, also it has an impact on the environment. The processing and controlling of punch machine noise began earlier in developed countries, China started similar studies in the late 1970s. When reduce punch noise, we should consider many factors, such as machining quality, productivity, convenient operation and cost. So the processing of punch noise is urgent and difficult.

Now let’s know more about the production of punch noise!
Strong noise generats when the punch press is under load operation. The main sources of punch noise are impact between punch head and workpiece, punching rod and workpiece, unloading plate and sheet material, and the punching and shearing noise formed during punching and shearing.
Here are three types of noise:
(1) Impact noise
Impact noise is the main component of punch noise. When the punch cuts the sheet material, it will collide with the sheet material and produce impact noise. Impact noise divids into acceleration noise and self-roaring noise. When the punch hits the blank, the acceleration noise appears. It vibrates when the blank is impacted. The sound is self-roaring noise.

(2) Punching and shearing noise
The material fractures during punching and shearing, which results in sudden unloading of the punch. The resulting sound is punching and shearing noise. The punch vibrates and causes sound radiation of the fuselage and ground vibration.
(3) Noise caused by the gap of transmission parts
There is a fit gap between each connecting part of the punch. The impact force causes the backkick of the shafting and the parts are excited with vibration. In the end the sound radiation makes the noise.
