Notes for punch operator in actual production
Press operation belongs to high risk work, especially each punch and its operating performance differ from each other. So, before punching machine actual operation, the operator must read operation instruction carefully and the requirements of the instruction strictly. The operator should work by steps to operate punch correctly and effectively, do not ignore this by experience in actual operation punch, don’t change or ignore the operation steps. Casual operations of the punch will result in safety accidents.
1. Operators must pay attention to the “Warning” mark of punch:
(1) The punch operators must have received professional technical operation training, understand the punch principle, can actually operate the punch. The traditional punch press uses the motor movement to drive the crankshaft, then it drives the slider to move to stamp. The pneumatic punch is almost the same with conventional punch, but the difference is that pneumatic punch’s motivation source is air pressure, while conventional punch’s is flywheel. And the pneumatic punch has more load devices with more effect.
(2) The punch presses equip with international safety protection measures. Don’t modify the control circuit or add non-original device by themselves.
(3) Operators must pay attention to the following points when operate the punch:
A. Wear your working cap.
B. Wear safety shoes.
C. Don’t wear loose clothing.
D. Don’t wear too long hair.
E. Wear earplugs or earmuffs.
(4) When the main motor is cut to the main motor, and the flywheel doesn’t completely stop or the punch is still moving, the operator can’t extend the hand or body into the punch.
(5) In case of any abnormal operation during the operation of the punch press, the emergency stop button of the punch press must be pressed immediately.
(6) Before repairing punch press, the operator needs to put the power switch on the OFF position, then lock and label, in end take the OFF key.
(7) The installation, adjustment, maintenance and other items of punch motor equipment should be undertaken by professional electrical personnel. Without consent or commitment, the operator can’t transform the control circuit or add equipment other than the original equipment of the machine by yourself.
(8) To ensure the safety of the actual operator of the punch press, the punch press should equip with various safety devices and sensing switches. The operator should not adjust or set the machine at will.
(9) Pay attention to operators’ physical and mental health management to avoid excessive fatigue.
(10) If the operator is unclear, please directly ask the punch after-sales maintenance personnel.
(11) To large-tonnage punch presses, please entrust a professional lifting company to take charge of it.

2, punch operators need to have a sense of crisis: the operator’s own safety awareness can’t be ignored. In the practical operation, the following points can make the stamping work safer:
(1) It the operator wants to improve the safety protection device of the operating punch, and empty test shall be carried out. In case of hysteresis, continuous punching or other faults, the operator needs to carry out normal work only after he eliminates the phenomenon of hysteresis, continuous punching or other faults in time.
(2) Before the operation of the punch press, be sure to check whether everything is normal. If the operator finds the press machine abnormal, stop it immediately for inspection.
(3) Be sure to set up warning boards before the maintenance of punch press and inform colleagues.
(4) Operate the punch press in accordance with the standard procedures, and pay attention to the work. During the operation of the punch press, the operator can’t put hands, tools and other objects into the dangerous area. He needs to use special tools to pick or take the small workpieces.
(5) In the inspection, adjustment, maintenance of the punch, be sure to stop the punch before your new operation.
